Precious Jewels Nairobi Summit - Phenomenal Women (M.N.G.S)

My spirit is overwhelmed by the goodness of God over us. The response to this study has been incredible. Every single place Leah has taught the Jewel Study we have been asked if we came with publications of her "book." The Lord is clearly confirming that Leah needs to put this study in book form. It was also suggested that she has a podcast for the studies because many  here in Nairobi listen to podcasts. Today, Sunday, November 24th, we were asked to consider having a bigger event that will accommodate a large number of participants in the summer of 2021!😲😲 So we will start praying!🙏

Today we began the day in Church. We attended the 11am service at St. Francis, Karen where we were asked to stand and be appreciated by the church. Leah and I each received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.

After the church service we went to meet the "Phenomenal Women." These are ladies I went to secondary school (middle school) with... we have known each other since we were 12 or 13 years of age. We have an association known as the "Phenomenal Women." These women were eager to hear Leah's teaching on the Pearl. After a delicious lunch at Ndemi Place (a retreat centre) Leah shared on the Pearl.

PEARL- Setting ourselves apart
The pearl is the only stone formed from a living organism. It's the result of an oyster
protecting itself. As we learn about the pearl, we learn that no trial, persecution or situation is in vain. They are tools to grow us and to give Glory to Jesus Christ.

The teaching was so well received they have invited us to come back in 2021. We had a session of Q&A and comments. The ladies gave testimonies of what they were taking away from the study. During our discussion time it started raining! Yes ... God is still answering our prayers of rain.😂 This was a storm so we were stuck in the conference room and so the discussion continued. When the storm eased off we were invited at one of the ladies home for tea/coffee and dessert. The conversations continued in this next venue until 8:00pm!😮

This was another amazing day! To God be the glory great things He has done!

The LORD Himself has accomplished that which He spoke into being and His purposes have been fulfilled through the Precious Jewel Nairobi Summits. Noni and Leah back where we began - Washington DC We arrived safely on Monday afternoon at Dulles Airport in Washington DC. It was somewhat sad having to say goodbye to each other. Leah took a shuttle to Reagan National Airport for her flight back to Albuquerque and I went home. Six years of praying, eight months of planning have come to an end. To God be all the glory for the great things He has done in and through us. Leah landed in Albuquerque at 11:42 pm (1:42 am EST). She is safely home and that brings our trip to an end. Oh give thanks to the   Lord , for he is good; for His steadfast love endures forever! 1 Chronicles 16:34 Leah holding "Sweetys" I hope you had a lovely thanksgiving. We spent the day at the tea farm in Muranga, located in the Central Province.The farm is about 2.5 hours from Nairobi. Leah got to experience buying bananas out of the car window.😃 We got stuck in heavy rush-hour traffic on our way back home, so we were terribly tired but we did not mind because we got to sleep in on Friday. Friday, November 29th - we visited the David Sheldrick Wildlife sanctuary where we got to watch elephants rescued from the wild being fed. You can also pet the elephants which come right up to Feeding time you because there is only a rope between you and the elephant. Each animal has a name and story of how it was rescued. There are also keepers for each elephant who care for and nurture these animals until they are ready to be put back in the wild. This is a very info...

Time to say goodbye! Sunday, December 1, 2019  - our last day in Nairobi, Kenya! We thank God for holding the rain back all of Saturday. It started raining about 8pm when we were safely back in the house. It rained all night and ceased in the morning. By the time we got out to go to church, the skies were clearing! It was a wonderful Advent church service at St. Francis Anglican Church in Karen. Noni, Leah & Ciku After church we passed through Java for one last coffee treat! After a nice Kenyan lunch in honor of Leah – which included cooked green bananas [Leah’s favorite], open-fire roasted goat meat [Leah loved it], vegetables and fresh fruit salad [another favorite of Leah’s] it was time for final packing and final goodbyes.
